The boyfriend’s father was detained by Delhi Police for assisting his son in the murder’s planning days after the corpse of a young Delhi woman was discovered inside a restaurant fridge. The 23-year-old Nikki Yadav was reportedly strangled with a charging cable by her partner Sahil Gehlot. In the chilling sequel to the Aaftab Poonawalla and Shraddha Walkar case from the previous year, he then placed the body in a refrigerator at a restaurant operated by his family.
Nikki Yadav’s corpse was found by police on Valentine’s Day, a day when many people in the nation were celebrating love.
Police have detained Sahil Gehlot’s father along with three other family members and acquaintances who assisted in the murder’s planning.
“5 persons have been detained by Delhi Police. Additionally, Sahil Gehlot’s father has been detained on suspicion of aiding the conspiracy, “CP Special Ravinder Yadav informed a news organisation.
Another significant revelation came from insiders in the Delhi Police, who claimed that Sahil and Nikki were wed in a Noida temple in October 2020.
According to the police, Sahil’s family did not support the connection and also arranged for his marriage to a different woman.
Nikki was ignorant of her live-in partner’s engagement to a different lady. Police sources said that she learned of it the day before his nuptials.
Police discovered CCTV footage of Nikki Yadav entering her rented home in southwest Delhi while conducting their inquiry. She is by herself in the February 9th recording.
Police claim that her companion killed her a few hours later.
A short distance from the home, the couple fought for about three hours inside a vehicle over Sahil getting married to another woman.
Sahil allegedly strangled Nikki with a charging wire as the altercation intensified. He reportedly became anxious and made the decision to conceal the body at his family’s dhaba in the freezer.
This is the second time a young woman has reportedly been murdered in Delhi by her live-in partner. Shraddha Walkar was killed by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawalla last year, who then dismembered her corpse and dumped the pieces throughout the city, according to the police.
