CM ML Khattar Urge People To Visit Nearby Temples After State Govt Denies Yatra By VHP

Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, stated on Sunday that since it is the month of “Sawan,” people can visit local temples and offer prayers after the Haryana government rejected permission for a yatra organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Nuh.

Authorities have prohibited mass gatherings in the neighbourhood due to worries about law and order raised by both local police and intelligence agencies.

“Looking at the kind of incident that happened there (Nuh) at the beginning of the month, it is the government’s duty to ensure that law and order in the area is maintained. Our police and administration have taken this decision that instead of carrying out a yatra, people should go to nearby temples and offer prayers. Permission for yatra is denied but people can go and offer prayers in nearby temples as it is Sawan month,” Mr Khattar told reporters today.

He added that permission would be granted for “jalabhishek” in the temples while respecting the people’s religious beliefs.

“Since it is Sawan, everyone is welcome to do jalabhishek in their own local temples. “Permission has not been granted to travel in order to preserve law and order because of the incidents that occurred in Nuh in the past,” he continued.

On Saturday, the Haryana government announced that Section 144 of the CrPC had been implemented in the district and that no permission had been provided for the Braj Mandal Shobha Yatra to take place in Nuh.

Dhirendra Khadgata, the Deputy Commissioner for Nuh, announced to the media, “We have rejected the permit for yatra. However, some have stated they will still hold the yatra. We have put Section 144 into effect.

On Saturday, the Haryana Police said that until Monday, internet connectivity has been halted in the Nuh district.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad, on the other hand, has said that they will continue with their yatra on Monday in Nuh.
