After Shah Rukh Khan’s movie Jawan became a worldwide hit, its producers held a successful press conference at which the key actors participated. A few videos quickly went viral online as the star-studded event got underway. One video showed SRK and Deepika dancing to Chaleya, while another showed them spending some tender moments together. The actor revealed Dunki’s release date after SRK, Atlee, and Deepika spoke about all the support they had received.
By the end of the year, SRK will release Dunki, his third movie, following Pathaan and Jawan. The actor will share screen time with Taapsee Pannu in the Rajkumar Hirani-directed movie.
Shah Rukh Khan himself spoke about his future movie Dunki and revealed its release date at the success press conference for Jawan. He acknowledged its Christmas release and told him that God was in charge. He told the media, “I am not trying to show off. God has been very kind that we have had Pathaan. God has been even kinder with Jawan.” Further adding, “We started on 26 January, Republic Day, it’s a good, auspicious day. Then on Janmashtami – Lord Krishna’s birthday – we released this film. And now on Christmas, we will bring Dunki. National integration rakhta hoon (I keep national integration).”
At the same event, Jawan director Atlee talked about how Shah Rukh Khan approved a 300 crore movie at a period when only 30 to 40 crore movies were succeeding. He said on the event, “I narrated the film on a Zoom call during Covid times. I know theatrical footfall was going down and people were not ready to greenlight even a 30-40 crore film. I know because I am also a producer. But sir [Shah Rukh Khan] greenlighted a Rs 300 cr film when everyone was skeptical. But we didn’t stop at Rs 300 cr. We went more. We made a blockbuster in three days and now, we are flying.”
We already look forward to seeing Shah Rukh Khan shine in Dunki once more at Christmas.
