One of the biggest outcome of INDIA bloc meeting on Tuesday was the proposal of Mallikarjun Kharge as the choice for Congress’ Prime Ministerial candidate in next year general elections. While, many think him not a fit for the position but his experience, caste and proximity to the Gandhis provide a credibility in proposing his name.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were the ones who proposed Mr Kharge’s name for the alliance’s prime ministerial candidate.
However, in his response the Congress president said, “Let’s win first, the PM face will be discussed later, ” he said addressing a press conference following the bloc’s meeting.
Now, all are waiting for Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati’s response for having country’s first Dalit Prime Minister. If she backs the move proposed by INDIA alliance would gain pace.
