The Maha Vikas Aghadi, which consists of the Congress, the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP, will oppose the ruling Mahayuti coalition in Maharashtra, which is composed of the BJP, Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party.
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is made up of the BJP, Janata Dal (United), and the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), will oppose the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), a member of the INDIA bloc.
After it is approved by its central election committee (CEC), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is anticipated to reveal its first list of candidates for the Maharashtra elections, which includes more than sixty names, in the following two days, according to persons with knowledge of the situation.
Key members of the BJP’s Maharashtra branch as well as the two state election-in-charges, Bhupender Yadav and Ashwini Vaishnaw, participated in a lengthy meeting on Monday in New Delhi, which was presided over by JP Nadda, the national president of the party, and union home minister Amit Shah. The party’s Maharashtra unit has finalised about 100 candidates, including sitting MLAs, for the CEC to choose from.
In the meantime, the Congress party also called a conference to plan for the Maharashtra assembly elections. Important issues that were covered included electoral guarantees and seat-sharing with partners in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
The party wants to stay away from the errors that cost it the most recent Haryana elections. Senior leader Balasaheb Thorat, former party chief Rahul Gandhi, Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole, opposition leader in the Maharashtra assembly Vijay Wadettiwar, and party president Mallikarjun Kharge chaired the meeting at his home in the nation’s capital.
