Massive fire broke out at a plant of the world’s largest vaccine maker the Serum Institute of India. The plant was situated at an under construction building in Manjri area of Pune.
According to the sources no one is feared of being trapped in the building where fire broke out. However, the fire will not affect the production of Covidshield a vaccine for coronavirus, which is being developed by the Serum Institute.
Covidshield is being developed by SII in partnership with Oxford University and British- Swedish Pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca. The Serum Institute of India has a facility of around 100 acres of land.
