With life getting back on track and vaccination several states have started reopening their schools including Punjab for their higher secondary classes. However, in Nawanshahr of Punjab a government school was again closed after fourteen studentsand three teachers tested positive for Covid-19 after the reopening of the school.
60 samples were taken out of those total 300 students who study in the government school. Out of those 60 samples total 14 students were tested positive and afterwards the teachers were also tested in which total three teachers tested positive for the virus. .
The school was ordered to close immediately as informed by District Education Officer (DEO) Jagjit Singh. The students will be provided online classes till the situation fully normalizes said Jagjit Singh.
However, the schools are reopened after the first nationwide lockdown was imposed to contain the spread of coronavirus which means after nine months.
