A Row Heated For Nandigram

Meanwhile, BJP has not finalized the name of any candidate for contesting in Nandigram.

BJP’s newly recruited Suvendhu Adhikari has once again challenged the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by saying that even if he does not contest from Nandigram he will make sure that the TMC led by Banerjee loses in Nandigram. He claimed the constituency as a stronghold of Adhikaris.

“Whether the party nominates me or not, I will defeat Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram, this is my responsibility,” said Adhikari before his visit to Delhi.

Adhikari has contested from Nandigram for many years but as Trinamool MLA. He joined BJP after quitting TMC last year. Earlier in the battle Mamata Banerjee had also thrown an open challenge on Adhikari for winning high votes in the constituency.

Meanwhile, his name is not finalized yet for contesting in Nandigram by the BJP.

TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee is seeking for her hat-trick in the state whereas, BJP has planned to win 200 seats out of total 294 assembly seats to end her two terms tenure.

The state BJP president Dilip Ghosh said that BJP has shortlisted 4-5 names per seat for the first two phases of the elections in the state. The list will be finalized by March 4, he said.

Elections in West Bengal will take place in eight phases starting from March 27 to April 29, and the results will be declared on May 2.
