Sasikala Quits Politics Ahead Of Assembly Elections

VK Sasikala, the close aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, late night Wednesday decide to quit politics just ahead of the state elections.

She announced her decision through a two-page statement, in which she wrote that the leaders of the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) will have to work together to continue the golden rule of former chief ministers J Jayalalithaa and MG Ramachandran.

She also said that it was Jayalalithaa’s wish that AIADMK  rules the state for more than a century. “The cadre will have to strive hard to prevent the evil force Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) from returning to power and ensure the golden rule of Amma continues,” she wrote.

Sasikala who is often called as Chinnamma by her supporters also thanked all the leaders and her supporters.

Chinnamma also said that she was remained same as before the death of Jayalalithaa, like the way she used to work in her presence.

“I am not for any position, title or power. I will remain grateful to the beloved cadre of Puratchi Thalaivi and the people of Tamil Nadu,” said Sasikala.

Citing that she wanted to stay away from politics and wanted to pray to Jayalalithaa who was like a god to her.

Sasikala just came out of Bengaluru prison in the month of January, after her four-years of imprisonment in the case of disproportionate assets with three others.

Tamil Nadu is going to have elections in one phase on April 6 and the results will be declared on May 2.
