Another Fire At Maharashtra’s Thane Hospital. Four Patients Dead

The fire destroyed the first floor of the hospital. No Covid patients were at the facility.

Four patients admitted at private hospital near Maharashtra’s Thane have died due to a fire outbreak in the hospital. The hospital was abou 28 km far from the state capital Mumbai. Many others have also been injured.

The fire broke out at around 3:40 am in the Prime Criticare Hospital at Kausa in Mumbra. The fire is now on control after three fire ambulances and fire engines reached the spot.

Total 20 patients have been rescued from the tragedy and out of those 6 were admitted in ICU. However, there were no Covid-19 patients. Hospital’s first floor has been completely destroyed by the fire.

Soon after the fire broke out all officials went to the spot but even after enquiring with the witnesses the cause of the fire is not clear yet.

The incident has been informed to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, said and official.

The government has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the families of each victim and Rs 1 lakh to each who have been injured.

A high-level enquiry committee comprising of police officials, medical officials and members from city’s civid body has been constituted to probe the cause of the fire.

The state had reported a same incident of fire at hospital last week in which 13 ICU patients were killed. All those 13 patients were Covid-19 patients.
