The Hindi film industry is bubbling with announcements! The Hindi film industry has been announcing the release dates of their films just a day after Maharashtra’s state government declared their decision to reopen theatres on October 22. Over the weekend, Akshay Kumar, who may have the most films in his resume, announced the release dates for some of his upcoming projects, including Sooryavanshi, Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj, and Ram Setu. Later in the day, the creators of Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan announced the film’s release date.
For the Independence Day weekend in 2022, Raksha Bandhan will be released on August 11th. Bhumi Pednekar star in the film, which is directed by Aanand L Rai. Colour Yellow Productions and Cape Of Good Films, in collaboration with Zee Studios, are producing the film, which was written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dillon.
The film began shooting in Mumbai in June of this year, with a set designed to appear like Chandni Chowk in Delhi. They are now filming in Delhi. Kumar’s sisters are played by Sahejmeen Kaur, Deepika Khanna, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth in the film. The film is about a brother and sister relationship. According to Akshay Kumar, “Raksha Bandhan is a special film for all of us, rarely are such pure and simple films made. Can’t wait to begin filming for this one!” The filmmakers planned to premiere the film in November 2021. The film, however, was delayed due to the pandemic.
