Ajit Pawar Faces Exodus as Four Leaders Depart, Signal Return to Sharad Pawar

Four prominent leaders of the NCP’s Pimpri-Chinchwad unit have resigned, dealing a blow to the party led by Ajit Pawar, who is expected to soon join the Sharad Pawar group. This move occurs months ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly polls and in the wake of the NCP’s dismal showing in the most recent Lok Sabha election.

Ajit Pawar has received resignations from Ajit Gavahane, the head of the NCP’s Pimpri-Chinchwad unit, Yash Sane, the head of the Pimpri-Chinchwad students’ wing, and Rahul Bhosale and Pankaj Bhalekar, the former corporators.

Ajit Gavahane resigned, according to sources, after his attempt to secure a ticket for the Bhosari Assembly seat was unsuccessful. Mahesh Landge, a BJP MLA, has served two terms as an elected representative from the Bhosari constituency.
