Finally, producer Ratan Jain has spoken out about the potential for a Baazigar sequel. He has acknowledged that talks with Shah Rukh Khan are ongoing, but as of right now, there is no screenplay or set ideas. In addition, the producer has stated that if SRK plays the title role in Baazigar 2, he will only create the sequel. Ratan Jain confirmed the news and said, ”We keep talking to Shah Rukh about Baazigar 2 but not much has happened but it will definitely be made.”
In Baazigar, a young man seeks retribution from a man who was previously a junior employee of his company for the unjust death of his father. When it was debuted in theatres, movie was unique due to its plot, which included themes of love and betrayal.
A significant turning point in Shah Rukh Khan’s career, Baazigar is now regarded as one among Bollywood’s cult classics. According to reports, the movie was previously given to a number of other well-known celebrities of the era, but they turned it down because of its antihero narrative. In addition, Sridevi’s name came to light at the time, when she was asked to play one of the movie’s female leads.
In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, Siddharth, Johny Lever, Kajol, Shilpa Shetty, and Dalip Tahil all played significant roles in Baazigar. Anu Malik created the soundtrack for Baazigar, which was also a huge hit. Baazigar is loosely based on Ira Levin’s 1953 novel A Kiss Before Dying and its 1991 film adaptation of the same name.
