The saffron party BJP has planned to go on a reviewing drive in the state of Bengal before the assembly elections in the state and has now closed doors for the mass joining of turncoats during the current phase which the time ahead of the elections.
BJP is becoming the biggest opponent to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) as leaders from various parties majorly from TMC are making efforts to join BJP which is the largest political party in India.
“For now, we are shutting our doors to mass joining of leaders, which has been going on over the past few months,” said the BJP party’s in-charge of West Bengal. and BJP’s national general secretay Kailash Vijayvargiya.
Around two dozen sitting and former MLAs and scores of district and block level leaders from various political parties have joined BJP after switching off to their former parties since 2019, told BJP leaders.
lately two major ministers who were also the former MLAs of TMC Suvendhu Adhikari and Rajiv Banerjee along with a group of MLAs and district level leaders have joined BJP.
“Henceforth, only select leaders will be allowed to join the BJP. We will be very particular about their antecedents and no leader associated with the mafia raj that the state’s ruling party is engaged in will be allowed,” said Kailash Vijayvargiya.
However, some senior leaders from BJP have mentioned that the party is keeping an eye big personages who have a big fan following and a good image and a potential to win from any of the constituencies.
This development came after a hidden conflict came out between the new joiners and the old timers within the saffron party. Several party leaders were seen in resentment against some new joiners who were given entry in the party by the party leaders.
These conflicts were recently came out from two districts Asansol and Burdwan from West Bengal on January 21.
“BJP is a politically bankrupt and confused party. They have no option but to take leaders from other parties by giving them attractive proposals or by threatening the leaders using some central investigative agencies. They have failed to project any face in Bengal. Infighting has begun within the party. So they need not shut their doors, the people of Bengal will shut the doors for the BJP,” said the TMC spokesperson, Kunal Ghosh.
The BJP after getting influenced by its impressive outcomes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in which the party won 18 out of 42 seats, the party is now thinking of winning 200 seats out of total 294 seats of the assembly.
