On Wednesday afternoon, an unknown individual called the CISF control centre at the Mumbai Domestic Airport (T1) threatening to bomb the airport. The caller said that a man named Muhammad was carrying explosives on his way from Mumbai to Azerbaijan. The CISF team moved quickly to notify the Sahar Police station, which prompted the dispatch of officers to the airport for a thorough investigation.
According to sources, the caller abruptly ended the call at approximately 3 PM without providing any flight information. The caller is currently being tracked down by authorities as part of a comprehensive investigation. As a precaution, airport security has been increased, and police are confirming passenger information to guarantee security.
After receiving information from a traveler who believed that a bomb would be hidden on a private airline aircraft, security guards at Kolkata Airport were put on high alert three days ago. The passenger informed CISF and IndiGo employees that he believed a bomb would be installed on Kolkata-Chennai IndiGo flight 6E 892, according to airport sources.
According to a spokeswoman for the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the traveler, who was seated close to gate number 18 at the airport, thought a bomb was ticking inside a suitcase. It was later found that the luggage really belonged to an IndiGo employee who is female.
