CBI Uncovers Breakthrough in NEET Exam Scandal After Finding Half-Burnt Question Papers

The CBI found partially burned NEET-UG 2024 test question papers, which gave the investigating agency a vital lead and helped them solve the paper leak case.

Important details about the crime were disclosed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in its first formal statement on the NEET paper leak case.

The CBI claims that on May 5, 2024, the NEET UG 2024 question paper was obtained illegally from the Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand.

The principal, vice principal, and associate of the school, in addition to Pankaj Kumar, also referred to as Aditya or Sahil, who was named as one of the masterminds behind the leak, were all involved in gaining unauthorised access to the exam papers, according to the investigative agency.

“The recovered pieces of half burnt question papers enabled CBI to reach the designated NEET examination centre from where it leaked,” the probe agency said.

On May 5, early in the morning, the trunks containing the NEET exam papers were brought to school and stored in the control room. The CBI said that the principal and vice principal of the school permitted the masterminds of the document leak to enter the room just minutes after the trunks arrived.

It has been revealed that the group gained unauthorised access to the question papers’ trunk by using advanced techniques to open it.

A group of MBBS students in Hazaribagh, known as “solvers,” solved the exam paper once they were granted access to it. A small group of students who paid for the answers were subsequently given access to the answered papers.

The majority of the solvers participating in the operation have been identified and apprehended by the CBI.

The inquiry has also revealed that a network of people who coordinated the candidates’ housing and transportation provided support to the accused.

All pupils who received the leaked question papers are currently being tracked down, and appropriate sanctions are being applied to them.

Since the CBI probe began on June 23 of this year, 36 people have been arrested, including 15 who were taken into custody by the Bihar Police.
