The Chief Executive Officers of both Facebook and Twitter are in talks with the House of Representatives lawmakers for witnessing at a hearing early in next month. It is also said that the people are familiar with the plans. However, the exact focus of the hearing is not clear yet.
After the discussions Twitter and its CEO Jack Dorsey has discussed to make one person available to appear before both the Commerce Committee and House Energy while Facebook has decided to make its Chief Mark Zuckerberg available for appearing.
The CEOs of Twitter and Facebook would be witnessing along with Google CEO Sundar Pichai as well as its parent company, Alphabet Inc.
Reuters had requested to comment but the Google, Twitter and Facebook did not immediately respond. Both the Commerce Committee and House Energy declined to comment.
The three CEOs had appeared before the Senate Commerce Committee for hearing in October in which they were questioned for their content moderation decision by the Republican lawmakers.
Whereas, the Democrats criticized for their lacking actions against the fake information.
