When it comes to the team’s selection and playing style, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir and the BCCI appear to be at a standstill. According to a shocking allegation, Gambhir was incensed by his team’s performance on Day 5 of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Melbourne, where they lost badly. Additionally, according to the article, Gambhir has made a strong case for Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara to be included in the Australia tour again.

According to the report, Gambhir made several requests for Pujara to be selected before the first Test match against Australia in Perth. However, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee disregarded his proposal. According to reports, Gambhir was still requesting Pujara’s participation even after India had won the Perth Test.
Although Pujara was a key player in India’s last two series wins in Australia and has participated in 103 Test matches with an average of 43.60, he hasn’t played for India since the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final.
