This weekend, Sanjiv Khanna, the Chief Justice of India, and twenty-four other Supreme Court justices organized a holiday in Andhra Pradesh. From January 11 to 14, the group—which includes their spouses—will travel to Vishakhapatnam and Araku Valley, the sources told the news agency.
During the Court’s vacation, the excursion has been characterized as an informal get-together. Using Leave Travel Concession (LTC), a benefit that is accessible to all government employees, the judges will pay for the expenses themselves.
According to sources, the Chief Justice suggested letting judges and their families unwind together. They made it clear that the trip would not be paid for by the Court and was not an official visit.
“It was decided that, since families will also be involved, the trip will be undertaken on LTC or personal expenditure. This is not an official trip that is being taken on court’s expense,” a source said.
