Citadel Honey Bunny Review, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan Lead in This ‘Blockbuster’ Hit

This weekend marks the premiere of Citadel: Honey Bunny, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan’s new television series. Citadel: Honey Bunny, the second spin-off series from Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Citadel, which debuted in 2023, will be available to view on Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, it has a clear connection to the actress’s series. Citadel: Honey Bunny is a delightful journey, according to the initial reviews, despite the series’ enormous curiosity.

Bollywood actress Nimrat Kaur was one of the first to give a critique of the series after attending its Monday night premiere in Mumbai. Taking to her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Congratulations team #CitadelHoneyBunny on this mad, brilliant ride… LOVED every moment of it!! Edgy, cult, gritty and delicious!!!”

Attending the premiere, Sonia Huria, who was previously intimately involved with Amazon Prime Video, praised the series and the team. “Congratulations, Raj & DK, Varun and Samantha. This has blockbuster written all over it… Can’t wait for the world to see it,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. Samantha replied, “Thank you, Sonia. Couldn’t have done it without you.”

Citadel’s first season, which starred Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Richard Madden, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, debuted to worldwide acclaim in 2023 and immediately became a topic of conversation. Citadel and its follow-up action-espionage Original Series travel the world, telling the narrative of secret agency Citadel and its formidable rival syndicate, Manticore. Citadel is executive produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO.

A few weeks ago, the Citadel: Honey Bunny trailer was made public. As they are thrust into a high-stakes world of action, espionage, and treachery, the teaser revealed that Varun doubles as a stuntman named Bunny, who enlists struggling actress Honey (Samantha) for a side assignment. The latest trailer, which is full of even more heart-pounding action and dramatic drama, follows the estranged elite spies as they come together years later to defend their young daughter Nadia when their perilous past catches up with them.

The series’ Italian spin-off, Citadel: Diana, was released by the franchise last month, while the Indian spin-off is called Citadel: Honey Bunny. Citadel: Honey Bunny, starring Samantha and Varun Dhawan, will premiere on November 7, 2024. Additionally, the series coincides with Citadel season 2 filming.
