Delhi Businessman Shot Dead on Morning Stroll, Attackers Escape After Firing 8 Rounds

In Shahdara, northeast Delhi, a businessman was shot dead on Saturday by attackers on a bike while he went out for a morning stroll. According to the police, Sunil Jain was riding a scooter home when he was hit by perhaps seven or eight shots near the Yamuna Sport complex. Three to four bullets hit the 52-year-old kitchenware merchant.

After receiving a PCR call, a squad from the Farsh Bazar police station hurried to the scene. But while being transported to the hospital, the 52-year-old passed away. To apprehend the attackers and determine the crime’s motivation, an inquiry has been started. “The police are looking into the CCTV cameras installed in the area to identify the accused,” a senior officer said.

According to Jain’s relatives, he was neither threatened or harboured animosity against anyone.

When it came to Delhi’s law and order issue, the AAP government was quick to criticise the Centre. The Ministry of Home Affairs is in charge of the Delhi Police.

AAP chairman Arvind Kejriwal accused Home Minister Amit Shah of “jungle raj” while Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj referred to Delhi as the “crime capital” of India.

“Delhi has been destroyed by Amit Shah. Delhi is now a jungle raj as a result of him. Everywhere, people live in fear. The law and order situation in Delhi can no longer be managed by the BJP. The former chief minister of Delhi stated that the people of Delhi ought to band together and speak up.
