Infosys Leader Kris Gopalakrishnan in Legal Trouble Amid Casteist Threats Controversy

On Monday, a case was filed under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act against Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan, a co-founder of Infosys, Balaram, a former director of IISc, and sixteen other individuals. On the 71st city civil and session court’s (CCH) orders, the case was filed at the Sadashiva Nagar police station.

Durgappa, the complainant, was a member of the Indian Institute of Science’s (IISc) Centre for Sustainable Technology and a member of the tribal Bovi group. He said he was fired from his position in 2014 after being wrongly accused in a honey trap case. He further claimed that threats and harassment based on caste were directed at him.

Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, Hari K V S, Dasappa, Balaram P, Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadyaya K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan are among the other defendants in this case. Kris Gopalakrishnan, who is also a member of the IISc Board of Trustees, and the IISc faculty did not immediately respond.
