Iran Bans Coronavirus Vaccines from Britain And US Due To The Highest Number Of Deaths In Both The Countries

In a television broadcast, Iran's supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the import of American and British vaccines are banned referring to the surging death tolls from the coronavirus in both the Britain and US.

Khamenei showed mistrust in the west by banning the American Pfizer- BioNTech and Britain’s Astrazeneca Covid-19 vaccines.

”I really do not trust,” them, Khamenei said of Britain and US. They want to test their vaccines over other countries adding he also said “I am not optimistic about France either”.

However, Khamenei approved the import of vaccines from other safe countries and is also very supporting in the Iran’s efforts for making the vaccines. Iran started testing its vaccines on humans in the month of December, though the vaccines are expected to hit the local market in spring.

All other activists in Iran are opposing the US made vaccines for a long time and also Iran’s Revolutionary Guard refused to use the foreign based vaccines in December. Senior official of Revolutionary Guards told that the Guard do not recommend use of injection of any foreign based vaccine.

Authorities then told that US-based benefactors plan to place scores of thousands of Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus to Iran.

Iran retains routes to vaccines despite penalties, with its participation in COVAX. International banks and financial institutions are interested to deal with Iran for fear of American penalties.
