Today, in poll-bound Jharkhand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the BJP’s manifesto. On Saturday evening, he reached Ranchi, the state capital.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the state’s creation, the BJP listed 25 resolutions in its “sankalp patra” for the Jharkhand elections. Among these, the “Gogo Didi” program offers women Rs 2,100 a month.
Shah launched a vicious attack on Chief Minister Hemant Soren, claiming that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) government does not provide safety for women and tribal people. Home Minister Amit Shah strongly criticised the state government, led by Hemant Soren, for failing to preserve the state’s identity at the release of the Jharkhand Sankalp Patra.
Shah maintained that the government has failed to address important issues, saying, “The present government has failed to safeguard Jharkhand’s ashmita (pride) — its bread, daughters, and land.”
He urged voters to consider what kind of leadership they want for the state’s future. “Under Hemant Soren’s government, Jharkhand’s tribal communities face growing insecurity, especially in Santhal Pargana, where their population has reportedly declined. BJP leaders claim that “infiltrators” are arriving, marrying local women, and taking over land. They warn that if these issues are not addressed, neither the cultural heritage, land, nor the safety of Jharkhand’s daughters will be protected. To counter these concerns, the BJP is advancing its campaign with the slogan “Roti, Beti, Maati,” pledging to secure livelihood, family, and land,” Shah said.
Amit Shah emphasised the BJP’s contribution to the creation of Jharkhand, attributing the state’s inception to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and its advancement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He maintained that the efforts initiated by PM Modi’s administration were put on hold when Hemant Soren’s party seized power five years ago. “Jharkhand was created by our former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji,” Shah said, adding, “the work of developing Jharkhand was done by our leader and the Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendra Modi ji.”
He asserted that development programs associated with the “double engine government” strategy ceased under Soren’s direction.
Votes for the state’s 81-member Assembly will be counted on November 23 after two rounds of voting on November 13 and 20. Additionally, the BJP promised to give 21 lakh families concrete dwellings with access to tap water.
To support youth in their careers, the BJP in its manifesto promises to provide a monthly stipend of Rs 2000 for two years. In order to combat unemployment, the BJP promised to create 287,000 government jobs and offer 500,000 self-employment opportunities.
Two free petrol cylinders will be given away annually under the Laxmi Johar Yojana, which will also supply cylinders for Rs 500.
The Sidho-Kanho research institute will be built in order to preserve and advance tribal culture.
The CBI will look into the previous CGL test and any significant paper leak incidents, and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission will no longer administer the Combined Graduate Level exam.
In Jharkhand, a Rehabilitation Commission will be set up to guarantee that rehabilitation takes place prior to any relocation.
Strict regulations will be implemented to stop encroachment and regain occupied areas as soon as the BJP government is formed.
