As hinted by Suvendu Adhikari, there is another movement in TMC as another administrative head of the Haldia civic body Shyamal Adak in East Medinipur, who is close to Suvendu Adhikari has resigned from TMC. State party TMC led by Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has refused to comment anything in the issue. ‘Jumping ships is common in politics’, said a TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Sekhar however, he too denied to speak anything on Adak’s exit, whether his exit will affect TMC’s Position in region or not.
Sukhendu Sekhar justified his statement as, joining and exiting is a common phenomenon during elections everywhere. Some exit but some join back too after realizing. He gave an analogy on his statement from Hindi proverbs which says, ‘Subha ka bhoola shaam ko vapas aa jaye to use bhoola nahi kehte‘.
On the other hand BJP has planned out a strategy for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections in which Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting the state every month till the elections, whereas TMC has begun its outreaching with highlighting the development programs and the schemes of Trinamool government.
There is violence taking place in several parts of the state ahead of the elections among both the sides.
The elections in West Bengal will take place in April-May this year on 294 seats. Among total seats of assembly TMC holds 222 seats.
Opposition party BJP has claimed to win 200 seats in the state which currently holds 18 seats in the state. However, former JDU VP and poll strategist roped with TMC has asserted that BJP won’t cross 99 seats.
