According to the Delhi Police around 200 protestors and 22 cases have been filed for the violence on Republic Day. These complaints and detainment happened under the charges of rioting, attacking public servants through weapons and vandalizing public property. In the latest report on injuries around 300 police personnel are injured during the clashes between the police and the protestors.
“We are making arrests after conducting proper verification. We are also looking into CCTVs near Red Fort, ITO, Nangloi and other areas where the violence erupted,” the police said in a statement.
Today, a day after the violence the security has been tightened up in the city and several paramilitary forces have been deployed on various parts like Delhi ITO, Red Fort and the farm protest sites following the meeting held by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
With protestor Kisan Union leaders are also under the survillance of Delhi Police after yesterday’s violence as per their undertakings. And as per sources five Kisan Union leaders have been charged under an FIR filed by Delhi Police.
Many farmer leaders have disassociated themselves with the violence blaming police personnel for their high-handedness that led to violence.
Delhi police is on duty to find and arrest all the culprits behind the violence. The police is scanning mobile and using CCTV footage of the site where the violent protests broke out.
