Police Arrests Suspect in Train Derailment Conspiracy in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, security services and police forces have located and apprehended the individuals responsible for train derailment sabotage plots. It was discovered that the accused in both cases worked for railroads. Authorities are also looking into the possibility that outside parties were involved in the conspiracy.

Ten “harmless” detonators that burst on a track during a military special train’s passage through Madhya Pradesh have been taken by a railway employee, who has been taken into custody. In the Bhusawal division, on September 18, the detonators—which the Railways claimed were “harmless”—blew up close to Sagphata, between the stations of Nepanagar and Khandwa. The military special train was put on hold for two minutes by the authorities due to an explosion. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) confirmed that a track patrol staff member has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.

“We have registered a case against one Sabir on Sunday for stealing the detonators under Section 3(a) of the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act,” Inspector Sanjeev Kumar of Khandwa RPF told news agency. Sabir, a mate, a rank higher than a gangman, was responsible for patrolling the tracks, he added.

Three railway workers in Surat, Gujarat, have been taken into custody for plotting on September 21 to derail a train close to Kim railway station. When the loco pilot saw that there were loose fish plates on the track, he took quick action.

Hitesh Joysar, SP, Surat Rural, said, “On September 21, an attempt was made to derail a train near Kim railway station. Sixteen police teams were formed to investigate the case. Drones were also used, and we spoke to locals. The NIA, Gujarat ATS, and other agencies were involved in the probe. During interrogation, accused Subash, Manish, and Shubham confessed they did this to gain fame, make money, and ensure continued night patrolling.”

Officials from the Government Railway Police (GRP) said on Monday that they had found nine iron rods on the Bathinda-Delhi railway track. A train had to be stopped early on Sunday morning, according to investigating officer Shavinder Kumar, after many iron rods were seen on the tracks. About three in the morning, the rods were found. The rods were swiftly taken down, according to railway police, and a FIR was filed against the incident’s unidentified participants.

“The RPF looked into it and found the rods in the morning. After then, the GRP was tasked with handling the case, and a FIR was filed. Further inquiry is in progress, and nine iron rods have been retrieved from the scene,” according to Investigating Officer Kumar.

In a different instance on Sunday, at around 5:50 a.m., a 5-liter empty petrol cylinder was discovered on the railway tracks close to the Prempur railway station in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, averting a possible disaster.
