Salaar is coming to a close after another weekend, and the movie is doing okay at the Indian box office. Even if a lot was predicted given the lack of any significant releases, approaching the 400 crore milestone is still a fantastic accomplishment.
The movie saw increase yesterday, grossing a total of 5.30 crores. It contributed to the film breaking Dangal’s all-time record of 387.39 crores and ranking in the top 10 biggest grossing films in India at the box office.
It was Prabhas’ third picture to make the list, which is a truly amazing accomplishment. With 1031 crores, his Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is firmly positioned at the top. Baahubali: The Beginning is in the 8th position with 418 crores.
Salaar has grown on its third Sunday, according to early statistics, but only slightly, with 5.70–5.90 crores pouring in. Nevertheless, it’s a respectable amount considering that the movie has now earned 394-394.20 crores net (in all languages) at the Indian box office.
It’s a tiny increase from the 5.30 crores from yesterday, but with the Sunday curse coming into play, it was always likely. Occupancies suffered during the evening performances, and the movie failed to make above 6.50 or even 7 crores. Still, if we see the brighter side, the biggie needs just 6 crores to make a smashing entry in the 400 crore club, and once that happens, it’ll become Prabhas’ third film to achieve the feat.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, Salaar was released on 22nd December and is currently running in five Indian languages (Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada).
