Protest by INDIA Bloc Against ‘Probe Agency Misuse’ Outside Parliament Today

The opposition staged a protest against the central government today over the alleged misuse of central agencies and the “irregularities” with the medical entrance exam, following the INDIA bloc’s power display in the parliament last week over the NEET debate issue, which caused a ruckus and ultimately led to the house’s adjournment.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh declared at a press conference on Sunday that the alliance parties have chosen to oppose the government of the country.

During a press conference on Sunday at the AAP headquarters in Delhi, Singh said, “The parties of the INDIA bloc had unanimously decided that we will protest against the misuse of ED and CBI in the Parliament premises tomorrow at 10.30 am.”

He said, “This is a clear abuse of investigative agencies,” pointing out that there is insufficient evidence for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his former deputy, Manish Sisodia, to be charged by the CBI or the ED.

The AAP representative went on to say that Kejriwal was detained by the CBI at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s and the Central government’s request.

As part of the continuous investigation into the excise policy matter, the Delhi Court ruled on July 29 that CM Kejriwal be detained in judicial custody till July 12.

The AAP responded by staging a protest against the court’s ruling on June 29. AAP leaders and MPs were among those who attended the protest, which was held in front of the Delhi BJP headquarters.

On March 21 of this year, the ED had arrested Kejriwal.
