PV Sindhu is unstoppable at the Olympic Games. On Wednesday, July 28, the Rio Olympic silver medalist glided into the Round of 16 of Women’s Singles badminton at Tokyo 2020.
PV Sindhu, seeded 6th at the Games, put forth a masterful performance against Hong Kong’s Cheung Ngan Yi in her final Group J encounter. Sindhu defeated Chueng 21-9, 21-16 at the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza in Tokyo in just over 30 minutes.
Sindhu takes first place in the three-woman Group J with four points from two matches. At the Tokyo Olympics, she has yet to lose a game. Sindhu started her season with a straight-game victory over Tsenia Polikarpova on Sunday.
Sindhu is the only Indian player still in contention for a medal in badminton at the Tokyo Olympics.
