Bharatiya Kisan Union Leader Rakesh Tikait on Tuesday announced that if the Centre does not take back the three farm laws, then the farmers will carry on a gherao protest at the parliament. He also said the call for “Delhi march” can come any time, so he asked farmers to be ready for the call.
He made this announcement while addressing a Kisan Mahapanchayat of United Kisan Morcha in Sikar of Rajasthan.
“This time the call will be for parliament gherao. We will announce it and then march towards Delhi. This time 40 lakh tractors will be there instead of four lakh tractors,” Tikait said.
The protesting farmers will now plough the gardens and cultivate the crops at India Gate, he added.
The date for the gherao protest will be decided soon by the Leaders of the United Front.
He also spoke on the Republic Day violence, calling it a conspiracy to defame the farmers and said, “The farmers of the country love the tricolor, but not the leaders of this country”.
The BKU leader also said that the farmers are now challenging the Centre if the three farm laws are not taken back and the MSP is not implemented, then the godowns of big companies will be destroyed.
With Rakesh Tikait the Mahapanchayat was also addressed by the National Vice President of All India Kisan Sabha Amra Ram, Swaraj movement leader Yogendra Yadav, National General Secretary of Kisan Union, Chaudhary Yudhvir Singh and many others.
Before the Mahapanchayat on Tuesday Tikait also addressed farmers at Sardarshahar of Churu district.
