Reports Claim Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Arrest in Dubai, Singer Responds with Clarification

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, a musician from Pakistan, brushed off rumours that she had been detained in Dubai on Monday, calling them “fake.”

Pakistan’s Geo News said that the singer was taken into custody following a defamation lawsuit filed by his former manager Salman Ahmed, citing sources from Dubai police.

In a video post on the microblogging platform X (previously Twitter), Rahat Fateh Ali Khan claimed that the rumours going around about the arrest are untrue and unfounded.

News sources claim that Rahat’s former manager filed accusations against him with the Dubai authorities. Rahat allegedly fired Ahmed after a disagreement a few months prior. Ahmed and Rahat have each filed lawsuits against the other.

In the video, the Pakistani singer said, “I am in Dubai to record songs. My songs are doing very well here. Everything is fine. I would like to request you all not to pay heed to fake news. My audience is my power.”

The Pakistani musician was involved in another scandal earlier this year after a video went viral allegedly showing him violently beating a man, whom he said was his disciple, with his shoe.

Another scene reveals that there were attempts to save the student by yanking the Pakistani singer away from him.

The man was revealed to be a presenter for Samaa TV in Pakistan, which voiced alarm over the increase in violent conduct among musicians.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, a singer from Pakistan, was discovered mistreating his servant. He provided an explanation later on,” the X user captioned the photo.
