Saudi Arabia has suspended international flights from 20 countries, including India and the United States, to control the spread of coronavirus as the number of Covid-19 cases in the country are rising.
The announcement was on Wednesday by the internal ministry of Saudi Arabia that the international flights from 20 countries will remain suspended to control the rising number of cases. It is fresh spike of the Covid-19 cases in the country.
According to the report, apart from India the other countries from which the flights are suspended include United States, Britain, Portugal, Pakistan, France, Italy Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, Japan, Ireland and Sweden.
However, some exceptions are allowed as Saudi citizens, diplomats, medical practitioners and their families are allowed to fly to the country.
Saudi Arabia has reported total 3,68,000 Covid-19 cases so far and 6,400 death toll. Although the daily Covid-19 cases have plunged from 5,000 in June to 100 in January, but on Tuesday the country reported total 300 cases which sent an alarm to the authorities.
The country has already started inoculating its citizens with the Covid-19 vaccine developed by BioNTech and Pfizer.
