Maharashtra’s ruling party Shiv Sena led by chief minister Udhhav Thackeray has decided to contest in upcoming West Bengal assembly elections, announced by Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut.
In the announcement he also said that the decision was taken after the discussions with chief minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The Sena MP Sanjay Raut also tweeted regarding the same stating, “So, here is the much-awaited update. After discussions with Party Chief Shri Uddhav Thackeray, Shivsena has decided to contest the West Bengal Assembly Elections. We are reaching Kolkata soon…!! Jai Hind, jy’ baaNlaa !,”
However, Raut did not mention anything on the number of seats for contesting in the elections.
The Sena is ruling by forming an alliance with NCP and congress under the support of Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi.
West Bengal will have election in the period of April-May this year on total 294 seats. The tenure of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government led by chief minister Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal will end on 30 may this year.
Apart from this there are various other political parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Left Parties are also preparing themselves for the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections.
