Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran Hits Rs 100 Crore Mark; Secures Spot in Global Top 10

Amaran was without a doubt this Diwali’s most anticipated release. Raaj Kamal Films International, which is owned by Kamal Haasan, supported it. It was the late Major Mukund Varadarajan’s biopic. It had the appropriate level of buzz needed for this genre of films and starred Sai Pallavi and Sivakarthikeyan in the main parts. The audience’s acceptance of the movie and celebration of it for what it was was a welcome surprise. As the third Sivakarthikeyan film to achieve the Rs 100 crore club worldwide, Amaran lived up to the hype and beyond expectations. Unlike his other films, Doctor and Don, it did so in a record three days.

The Amaran box office juggernaut is still going strong, as the movie earned an astounding Rs21.75 crore on Day 4, nearly matching its earnings from Day 3 and Opening Day. Given the kind of competition Amaran faced from films like Jayam Ravi’s Brother, Kavin’s Bloody Beggar, and high-profile Hindi productions like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again, this constancy is admirable. The film’s domestic receipts after its four-day opening weekend stand at Rs83.45 crore, following a strong showing on Days 1 and 3 of Rs 21.4 crore and a minor decline on Day 2 of Rs 19.15 crore.

It’s interesting to note that Amaran debuted at number seven in the world according to Comscore, trailing only Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which are ranked third and fourth, respectively. As he joins a select group of Tamil celebrities who made Rs 100 crore worldwide within three days of the film’s release, trade analysts are putting Sivakarthikeyan in the tier-1 star category. This is undoubtedly the biggest achievement in his career. Actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Vijay, and Ajith Kumar are on the list.

The Telugu version’s performance, which has contributed about 17% of Amaran’s earnings, is another noteworthy aspect of this run. The popularity of Sai Pallavi, Kamal Haasan, and Sivakarthikeyan, among others, is demonstrated by the Tamil version’s 84.61 percent occupancy on Day 4 in key locations and the Telugu version’s 76.34 percent occupancy.

Amaran is the second film directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and is Sivakarthikeyan’s first effort at a biography. It has music by GV Prakash Kumar and cinematography by CH Sai.
