Actor Mushtaq Khan revealed he was also abducted a few days after comedian Sunil Pal said he had been abducted. The actor was allegedly abducted while attending an event in Meerut. The actor reportedly received airline tickets and an advance payment to attend the event. According to Shivam Yadav, the actor’s business partner, the kidnappers allegedly tortured the actor for 12 hours and wanted a ransom of one crore. Ultimately, they deducted Rs 2 lakh from the actor’s and his son’s bank account. After hearing the morning azaan, Mushtaq fled, thinking there would be a mosque nearby.
Shivam told news agency, “Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken over what happened with him. However, he was always sure that he would file an FIR after he composed himself. Yesterday, I went to Bijnor and filed an official FIR. We have proof of the flight ticket, the bank accounts and even CCTV footage near the airport. He also recognises the neigbhourhood, even the house where he was kept. I think the police team will surely get the culprits soon.”
Comedian Sunil Pal recalled a similar incident a few days ago. According to reports, the actor-comedian was abducted and demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh after being invited to an event in Haridwar. He claimed he had no suspicions because they had sent a car to pick him up from the Delhi airport and had sent him an advance payment for his performance. But once he arrived in Meerut, a group of men reportedly moved him to a different car and gave him a shot full of poison to frighten him.
After discussions, the kidnappers allegedly forced him to send Rs 7.5 lakh, and they even handed the actor Rs 20,000 so he could purchase a flight back to Mumbai. “They promised to pay the ransom once they found jobs”, said the comedian. An FIR was filed at the Santacruz Police station after the actor safely returned to Mumbai.
In addition to Sunil Pal and Mushtaq, actor Rajesh Puri also reported a similar event in September, but he said he managed to get away with it. The actor revealed in an interview that he received aeroplane tickets to an event in Meerut along with an advance payment of Rs 35,000. But he never got an official invitation. They moved him into another vehicle once they arrived in Delhi.
“They then started heading toward Meerut, and when I asked why, they gave vague responses. That’s when I realised something is wrong. I mentioned my strong connections in Delhi to make them uncomfortable. They took me to eat at a dhaba when we were 12 kms away from Meerut.”
He was informed that he had been abducted by the kidnappers there. But they left him at the border, where his brother-in-law came to get him.
