India is seeing a second wave of Covid-19 and it is ending up being significantly more deadly than the past one. In a new turn of events, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given severe orders against those hospitals who are turning down patients on the suggestions of the district magistrates (DMs) and chief medical officer (CMOs). A case will be registered under the Epidemic Act against such hospitals.
In its press release the UP state government has said that the state medical education department has issued orders in this matter to all the CMOs and DMs and divisional commissioners.
The press release also stated that CM Yogi Aditynath had lately focused on the necessity of setting up an oxygen generation plant to guarantee a consistent flow of oxygen in the hospitals and medical colleges. Under this activity, various oxygen plants are presently set up and are functional in numerous hospitals and medical colleges.
The government is setting up oxygen plants in the government medical colleges in Ambedkar Nagar, Banda, Saharanpur and Azamgarh and also in the autonomous state medical colleges in Ayodhya, Basti, Bahraich and Firozabad districts in Uttar Pradesh.
The full budget released by the state medical education department was worth Rs 1.15 crore of which Rs 14.37 lakh goes for each plant at each medical college or hospital, states the press release.
Clearly, the spread of Covid in Uttar Pradesh is noticing a gigantic surge. In the last 24 hours, 22,439 fresh cases of infection have been reported. With this, there have been 1,29,848 active cases in the state. Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department Mohan Prasad said that 9,480 individuals have lost their lives due to the disease to this point. Simultaneously, 2,06,517 samples have been inspected on the last day, and then again, there were 4,222 individuals who have recovered themselves from the virus and got back to their homes from the hospitals.
In the wake of Covid’s expanding crises, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took numerous significant decisions on Thursday (April 15) for successful command over the pandemic. Night curfew has been imposed in those 10 districts, where more than 2000 cases are being reported continuously on each day. The time limit for the night curfew is between 8 PM and 7 AM in the morning.
