VHP’s 44 Day Drive Of Crowd Funding For Ambitious Project Of Ram Temple

The Vice president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Champat Rai Bansal announced a 44 day drive for collecting funds for Ram temple of Ayodhya starting from 15 January, Makar Sankranti which will end by 27 February, Magh Purnima.

Addressing the reporters Bansal said that the drive will include every person starting from President, Prime Minister to normal citizens of the country. The drive will connect every citizen to the ambitious project associated with Lord Ram from north east states to Kutch to Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the south.

This development comes after more than a year when the Supreme Court ruled favor of the temple and centre constituted a trust to oversee the construction.

Planning the major reach out the VHP said the parishad members will go to tribal areas, coastal areas and hilly areas to convince people to contribute for the donations.

The VHP has opened an office for crowd funding in Gujarat and has targeted o reach out to one crore people in Gujarat. The VHP will alo reach out to all the Chief Ministers irrespective of whether from BJP or not. Adding he said VHP workers would reach out to people with coupons and receipts of Rupees 10, 100 and 1000 with pictures to people making donations.

While announcing Bansal said that the present generation must know about the history and every aspect of the temple and also said that “people suffered pain, now it’s time to donate and money should not be any problem related to God”.

The temple constructed by L&T will be made out of stone and would be of three storied, each measuring 20 feet. The length of the temple is proposed to be 360 feet, width 235 feet and the height of the temple measured from the ground to the pinnacle of sanctum sanctorum will be 161 feet.

Bansal also said soil testing had been done till the depth of 200 feet to examine the impact of earthquake and experts from IITs (Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Guwahati), Central Building Research Institute, L&T and engineers of Tata consultancy services are preparing a foundation which will remain unaffected for 1000 years.
